In the Leningrad region, the FSB prevented a terrorist attack on a mined gas carrier

The Center for Public Relations of the FSB of Russia announced the prevention of a terrorist attack in the port of Ust-Luga in the Leningrad region. During the inspection, the security forces found two explosive devices in the form of magnetic mines manufactured by NATO on the underwater part of the hull of the Arrhenius gas carrier. The circumstances of the incident

The incident occurred in the port of Ust-Luga in the Kingisepp district of the Leningrad region, where the gas carrier Arrhenius arrived for loading and further transit to the Turkish port of Samsun. The ship left the Belgian port of Antwerp.

When entering the port of Ust-Luga, the vessel was searched. As a result, divers of the Russian Ministry of Defense found two foreign objects with magnets in the underwater part of the hull, which were attached in the area of the engine room and had signs of explosive devices.
