The new agreement, which the United States and Iran are nearing signing, provides for a 60-day extension of the truce, during which the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened. This was reported on May 24 by the Axios portal, citing an American official.

"The agreement, which Iran and the United States are close to signing, provides for the extension of the ceasefire for 60 days, during which the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened, Iran will be able to sell oil freely, and negotiations will be held to limit Iran's nuclear program," the publication says.
