The Ministry of Defense of Belarus predicted the continuation of the tense situation around the country

There are no trends towards normalization of the military-political situation around Belarus in the medium term. This was announced on May 22 by the Minister of Defense of the Republic, Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin.

"The military-political situation in the world and directly around the Republic of Belarus continues to be tense. And based on the forecast of its development, there are no trends towards normalization in the medium term," he is quoted as saying in the Telegram channel of the department.

Khrenin noted that this situation is related to the policies of the countries of the collective West and neighboring states. Under the slogans of the "threat from the East," they continue to increase military budgets, purchase equipment and weapons, and support the conflict in Ukraine, the minister added.

He stressed that Belarus is taking the necessary measures to maintain the combat capability of the Armed Forces and their readiness to carry out tasks taking into account the current situation.
