A doctor from Uganda spoke about people at risk of Ebola
Elderly people and diabetic patients are at risk of contracting Ebola. Ugandan doctor Elijah Kiiza, who has experience in treating the Bundibugio strain, told RIA Novosti about this on May 21.
According to the doctor, this category of the population has an increased risk due to reduced immunity. Kiiza noted that in these categories of patients, symptoms usually appear faster, whereas in children, the development of signs of the disease can take about a week and a half.
In addition, Ebola poses a danger to pregnant women.
The day before, the Russian office of the World Health Organization said that it is possible to become infected with the Ebola virus only through contact with the blood or body fluids of an infected person. It is noted that the virus cannot be infected by airborne droplets. Prior to this, the head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Murashko, said that there was no risk of Ebola spreading in Russia.
