The creators of the science fiction series "Stranger Things" Matt and Ross Duffer announced that they would reveal the mystery of the finale of the project and the fate of the main character Eleven (Eleven) only after 20 years. The showrunners told host Josh Horowitz about this on May 18 during the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, posted on YouTube.

The final episode of the fifth season of the show was released on Netflix on December 31, 2025 and left open the question of whether the heroine of actress Millie Bobby Brown survived after self-sacrifice to save her friends. Referring to the creator of the Sopranos series, David Chase, who has remained silent about his ending for years, the Duffers noted that they intend to keep the intrigue at least until the mid-2040s.
