The Pentagon has revealed violations in the administration of non-competitive contracts in the framework of assistance to Ukraine totaling $ 4.5 billion. This follows from the report of the department's Inspector General to Congress, which was reviewed by RIA Novosti on May 20.

"Contract army officers improperly administered non-competitive contracts in support of Ukraine in accordance with federal regulations, ministry regulations and army instructions," the document says.

The inspectors examined 10 contracts with a total value of $4.5 billion. According to the report, there was no proper monitoring of $439 million worth of services, so the US Army cannot confirm whether these works were actually completed. It was also established that responsible officers were not appointed for seven contracts, and no supervision reports were kept. The reason for the violations is the lack of qualified staff due to staff turnover.

It is clarified that the Pentagon fears that due to the lack of control, problems in the execution of these contracts could go unnoticed.
