Microsoft has acknowledged Windows' overheating and Battery issue

Microsoft acknowledged that device drivers in Windows 11 could cause laptops to overheat, accelerate battery consumption, and decrease performance without critical system failures. This was announced on May 19 by the Windows Latest edition.

"During the Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC) 2026, Microsoft officially announced fundamental changes in its approach to evaluating third—party software," the publication says.

As the publication explained, the problem was related to unoptimized hardware and software, which affected the operation of the devices, while remaining invisible to the driver quality assessment system.

Microsoft noted that the new measures should reduce cases of overheating of devices, rapid battery consumption and performance drop.

Apple saved: Apple has relied on the budget segment of consumers

Among the most affordable models are the iPhone 17e, MacBook Neo and iPad Air M4.

The Wall Street Journal reported on May 19 that Apple uses processors with minor defects when creating budget products, such as laptops, redistributing them due to production features. The new MacBook Neo uses the A18 Pro chip, which was previously used in the iPhone 16 Pro.
