The Interior Ministry called for hiding personal data to protect against government doxing

In order to protect against doxing by foreign countries, Russians need to hide personal data. This was announced on May 18 by the Department for the organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The department noted that doxing is often associated with the actions of hackers or the publication of other people's data after online conflicts. However, a more serious threat is posed by government doxing, in which personal information is used as a tool of pressure.
