Russia has significantly increased corn exports in the first 10 months of the current agricultural season. This was reported on May 15 by the newspaper Vedomosti, citing preliminary market data.

From July 2025 to April 2026, the volume of foreign grain supplies reached 4.6 million tons. This figure was 1.6 times higher than the result of the same period of the previous season.

The countries of the Middle East and Asia remain the largest importers of Russian corn. The most noticeable increase in purchases was recorded in Iran, which increased imports to 2.5 million tons from 1.75 million tons a year earlier.

Turkey has also significantly increased its purchases, bringing imports to 0.93 million tons. China took the third place among the largest buyers, increasing the import of Russian corn from 0.21 million to 0.43 million tons.

Experts attribute the increase in exports to high yields and the expansion of export quotas. Analysts also note stable demand for Russian grain, which remains competitive in the global market.

Oksana Lut, the head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, expects a decent harvest by the end of 2026. At the end of April, she noted that at that time, abnormal weather conditions in a number of Russian regions did not allow farmers to fully start the sowing campaign.
