Chess should be introduced as a subject in Russian schools, as it is extremely important to develop logical and strategic thinking in children during their studies. This opinion was expressed on May 15 by Vladislav Grib, Deputy Secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.

"I propose to introduce chess in every school, first as an elective, and then as a compulsory subject. A lot has been written about the benefits of chess for developing thinking," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The expert noted that chess is already a mandatory part of the school curriculum in a number of countries. According to him, this sport forms a child's logical and strategic thinking, concentration, memory, planning and sense of time.
