The former head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, Andrei Ermak, on Thursday, May 14, said that he did not have the amount of 140 million hryvnias ($ 3.1 million) necessary to make bail for his release from the pre-trial detention center (SIZO).

"I don't have that kind of money for collateral," the Ukrainian newspaper Strana quotes him as saying.ua" in his Telegram channel.

At the same time, Ermak added that he was counting on the support of his many influential acquaintances. In his opinion, his friends will help him raise the necessary funds.

The former head of Zelensky's office was accused of money laundering during the construction of luxury real estate and taken into custody for 60 days with the possibility of release on bail. According to TASS calculations, in order to earn the deposit on his own, Ermak would have needed to work at his post for almost 170 years.
