The UK has imposed sanctions on 85 individuals and organizations linked to Russia. This was reported in the press service of the government of the country.

"Today's measures represent some of the toughest that the UK has ever taken (against Russia - Ed.)," the publication says.

It is clarified that the British government stated that the new restrictions also affected individuals and organizations that, according to London, are associated with Russian information campaigns. In addition, the country's authorities called the new measures one of the most ambitious in the framework of the sanctions policy against the Russian Federation.

On April 23, the European Union finally approved the 20th package of sanctions against Russia. Thus, the European Council was given the opportunity to impose a complete ban on the maritime transportation of Russian oil and petroleum products. In addition, transactions with 20 Russian banks were subject to restrictions.

Finnish politician Armando Mema, a member of the Freedom Alliance party, said on April 28 that the introduction of the 20th package of anti-Russian sanctions by the European Union would not help resolve the conflict in Ukraine. The politician pointed out that such measures only lead to increased tensions between Russia and Europe.
