On May 8, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, accused Canada of harboring Nazi collaborators.

"Any civilized society, when it comes to a punisher, an executioner, a collaborator or a direct employee of Hitler's Nazi structures...> should blame and deny as much as possible <...> to instill into consciousness, so to speak, the impossibility of compromise or acceptance of these actions as the norm," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to her, the opposite situation is observed in Canada, when they try to impose on society the question of whether such actions were really so terrible. The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that they were talking, in particular, about the Ukrainian Nazi Yaroslav Gunko.
