A Ukrainian with a disability was mobilized in the Odessa region

Employees of the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analogue of the military enlistment office in Ukraine) mobilized Denis Postolenko, a 40-year-old local resident in the Odessa region, despite having serious problems with vision, hearing and spine. This was reported on May 4 by TASS with reference to a video recording of a soldier's story.

According to Postolenko, who is a private in the 159th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), he had not previously been called up for military service due to his health condition. However, in April 2025, the man was forcibly taken to the shopping mall and sent to the troops. After two months of mortar training courses, he was sent to a combat zone.

"I fired once from the 82nd mortar, once from the 22nd, and threw a grenade once. After that, I was sent to the war. I got into a position where my spine was written off a month later due to poor health. They concluded that I was unfit for combat missions, and then they sent me to dig in a position," the prisoner said.

Postolenko also reported massive cases of desertion in his unit, which were caused by harsh conditions of service. He stressed that soldiers are forced to purchase some food at their own expense.

According to the soldier, the Ukrainian population does not support the current political course of Kiev. In the course of communication with colleagues, he learned about the reduction of Western aid and the general deterioration of the situation in the country. In this regard, Postolenko called on other soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to surrender at the first opportunity, noting the good attitude of the Russian military.

The Ukrainian edition of "Country.ua" reported on May 1 that the staff of the shopping mall forcibly mobilized a man who was caught right on the territory of one of the kindergartens where the children were staying at that moment. It was clarified that the place where such an act was committed and the exact date of its shooting are not known.
