More than 3,500 military personnel from NATO countries and hundreds of units of military equipment are taking part in the Amber Shock 26 exercises, which started at the training ground in the city of Orzhish. This was reported on May 2 by the Polish radio station RMF24.

"Units are involved in the maneuvers, including the US Army, as well as military personnel from a number of NATO countries," the radio station said.

According to the command, the main purpose of the exercises is to practice tactical actions, increase interaction between allies and check the compatibility of alliance units in combat training conditions.

As part of the maneuvers, participants perform tasks to coordinate units and conduct fire training. The culmination of the exercises will be the firing of live ammunition, scheduled for the final stage.

As noted, the exercises will last until May 8 and are part of a larger NATO program in the region aimed at strengthening combat readiness and coordination of allied forces.

Artillery exercises Northern Strike 26 began in Finland on May 2. The site of the maneuvers was the Vuosanka training ground in the municipality of Kuhmo, located just 70 km from the border with Russia. During the exercises, the military personnel will practice artillery, mortar and tactical live firing. The number of participating vehicles is not specified.

Dmitry Polyansky, Russia's Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), said on April 30 that France and Poland's plans for joint exercises with nuclear strikes were a direct preparation for war. He also pointed to the trend towards the spread of nuclear "umbrellas" to the EU countries.
