Bardella urged not to consider France a "hotel" for migrants and a "social fund"
It is time for the French Republic to stop interfering in foreign policy issues, as it is not a "hotel" for migrants or a social fund. This was announced on Friday, May 1, by the leader of the National Union party, Jordan Bardella.
"France has no obligation to take on all the sorrows of the world. France is not a hotel, it is not a social fund designed to subsidize the birth rate of other nations on its territory," he said during his speech at the May Day rally.
These statements were met with applause from the audience — people cheered and waved flags in response to the politician's words. He, in turn, added that he supports the return of illegal migrants to their homeland.
Bardella, commenting on the policy of the country's president Emmanuel Macron and his supporters, accused them of "disarming" France by closing enterprises there and inaction against the background of growing public debt. The head of the National Association noted that the republic has lost its industrial and energy independence, and producers are suffering from taxes.
On the same day, journalist Eduard Novikov told Izvestia about the thousands of rallies that took place throughout France. The protesters opposed the "political games" of the authorities and demanded higher salaries. At first, the peaceful march eventually escalated into clashes with law enforcement officials, in which stones and bottles were thrown.
