- The media reported on Ukraine's plans to reduce the quotas for reservations from mobilization
The Ukrainian authorities are considering reducing the quota for providing armor from mobilization, which will increase the influx of recruits into the army by 350-400 thousand people. This was reported on May 1 by the Ukrainian newspaper Strana.ua" with reference to government sources.
"One of the options for changes in the mobilization process, which the authorities are currently discussing, is to reduce the quota for reserved employees at critical enterprises from the current 50 to 30%," the Telegram channel of the publication says.
It is noted that together, as the authorities expect, these measures should ensure the influx of additional recruits to the army in the amount of 350-400 thousand people.
Currently, the number of people booked is about 1.3 million. In addition to critical enterprises with a quota of 50%, there are defense and energy enterprises with a quota of 100%, and there are no plans to reduce it.
There is no final decision on reducing the quota yet, the government's economic bloc is against it. According to the newspaper, the office of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky fears the negative impact of the measures on social tension.
A captured militant of the 157th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Sergei Kadunov, reported on April 29 that Ukrainians were gathering in groups to "punish" employees of territorial recruitment centers (TCCs, an analogue of the military enlistment office in the country) for sending military personnel to the front. Kadunov himself served three sentences in prison for theft, and then was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine in January of this year. According to the Ukrainian militant, if he had the opportunity, he would have "strangled" the employees of the shopping mall, who sent him to the service.
