The Russian Defense Ministry told about the attempts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to hold the village of Pokalyanoe

The militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) tried to maintain control over the settlement of Pokalyan in the Kharkiv region at the expense of experienced instructors. This was announced on May 1 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"The enemy tried to keep control of the settlement by deploying experienced instructors of the mechanized brigade, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters were destroyed," the report says.

The ministry noted that the North group of troops continues offensive operations in several directions at once. It is also emphasized that Russian units are forming a security zone in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, moving forward and pushing the enemy away from the state border.

The fact that the Russian Army liberated the village of Pokalyanoe in the Kharkiv region was reported earlier that day. The manpower and equipment of seven mechanized, four motorized infantry brigades, three assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, eight air defense brigades, two National Guard brigades and two border guard detachments of the Border Service of Ukraine were also defeated.
