Archaeologist Alexander Butyagin said that he was afraid to talk to anyone about a possible release - he was afraid of "jinxing". He shared the details with the Izvestia correspondent on April 30.

"Within a week, the lawyer said that a certain minister had contacted him. And this question (about liberation. — Ed.) is being discussed. But I was silent, not telling anyone, not my relatives, not my friends, not my cellmates. Well, because it could all go wrong anyway," the scientist told Izvestia correspondent Nikolai Ivanov.
