Podkolzin's puck helped Edmonton beat Anaheim in the NHL playoff series.

The Edmonton Oilers hockey Club defeated the Anaheim Ducks in the fifth game of the first round of the National Hockey League (NHL) playoffs. The match took place on April 29 in Edmonton and ended with a score of 4:1.

Leon Dreisaitl scored a double for the hosts, scoring in the 11th and 31st minutes. Russian strikers Vasily Podkolzin and Zach Hyman also scored goals. Alex Killorn scored the only goal for Anaheim.

Podkolzin scored his second goal in the current playoff draw and brought the total number of points to five - he scored two goals and three assists in five matches of the series. In a series of up to four wins, Anaheim leads 3-2. The opponents will play their sixth match on May 1 in Anaheim, informs Sport-Express.

On April 28, the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Utah Mammoth in overtime of the fourth game of the first round of the NHL playoffs with a score of 5:4. Brett Howden, Russian forward Pavel Dorofeev, Cole Smith and Shea Theodore scored goals.
