American toy designer Roger Sweet, who participated in the creation of the character He-Man from the animated series "He-Man and the lords of the Universe," died at the age of 92 in the United States. This was reported by Variety magazine on April 28.

It is noted that Sweet died after a long struggle with progressive dementia. His wife Marlene said that the designer died in a medical facility.

Roger Sweet was born in Akron in 1935. At the beginning of his career, he held design positions at Walter Dorwin Teague Associates and other design firms. The designer has worked on projects for companies such as Boeing, Rubbermaid, Hoover, Procter & Gamble and others.

Sweet was the lead designer of Mattel's pre-design department in the 1970s and 1980s. At the same time, already in 1982, Mattel released the first series of Hi-Man figures under the leadership of Sweet. The first animated series, He-Man and the Lords of the Universe, based on the Mattel line of action figures, aired on television from 1983 to 1984. The character became a key figure in the popular 1980s franchise, which included a line of toys, an animated series, and comic books, and became widely known worldwide.
