The Kamchatka Regional Court sentenced a local resident to 13 years in a high-security penal colony for transferring data on Russian military personnel and equipment in the special military operation zone to a representative of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies. This was reported on April 27 by the FSB of Russia in the region.

"A resident of the Kamchatka Territory has been found guilty of high treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of Russia). Illegal activities were suppressed by security officials," RIA Novosti quoted the agency as saying.

It is specified that the man established confidential cooperation with a representative of the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies back in 2002 and supported him until his arrest. Through a messenger, he provided information about several Russian military personnel, as well as a photo of equipment used in the military area.

The FSB clarified that the convict had previously been repeatedly prosecuted, including on the territory of Ukraine for the contract killing of an SBU officer. In addition, he participated in armed conflicts in neighboring countries.

It is noted that during the search, a hunting rifle, a traumatic pistol, ammunition, books, notes and printed materials were seized from the man. Among them, according to the agency, there were documents on psychology, tactics of combat units, combat in different conditions and methods of avoiding the polygraph.

The court sentenced the defendant to 13 years in prison to serve his sentence in a high-security penal colony, a fine of 100,000 rubles and restriction of liberty for one year.

On April 22, an agent of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of Ukraine was arrested in Crimea, who was collecting data on the deployment of units of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. A criminal case was opened against the man under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Treason").
