Russian President Vladimir Putin jokingly advised world boxing champion Vsevolod Shumkov to continue biting his rivals.
The Russian leader commented on the boxer's promise to "no longer bite rivals by the ear."
"Let them bite, bite, bite, let them be afraid," Putin said. His words are quoted by VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin for IS Vesti.
At the same time, the head of state recalled how former world boxing champion Mike Tyson bit off part of his opponent's ear in the ring.
On April 22, Putin met with the winners of the boxing championships in an informal setting after the state awards ceremony. The Russian leader paid attention to each participant of the meeting, congratulated them and wished them further success.
