More than 2.5 thousand cubic meters of contaminated soil were removed in Tuapse after the oil spill. This was announced on April 26 by the head of the Tuapse Municipal District of the Krasnodar Territory Sergey Boyko in his Telegram channel.

According to him, specialists continue to eliminate the consequences of the incident. Work is underway in the water area and on the Black Sea coast, as well as downstream of the Tuapse River.

"Work is going on around the clock. More than 2.5 thousand cubic meters of contaminated soil have been removed," Boyko wrote.

132 people and 26 units of special equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences of the oil spill.

On April 20, the Prosecutor's Office of the Krasnodar Territory reported that damage to the transport infrastructure was recorded in the seaport of Tuapse after a drone attack. A man died on impact.

The operational center of the Krasnodar Territory reported that an oil spill in the Tuapse River due to a fire at the marine terminal was localized before going to sea, but later an oil slick with an area of 10 thousand square meters was recorded in the Black Sea 2.5 km from the port of Tuapse. After the fire, excess permissible concentrations of benzene, xylene and soot in the air were recorded. The fire was completely extinguished on April 24. The day before, it was reported that about 988 cubic meters of oil products trapped in the river had been removed in the city.
