- In Germany, they announced a strike against citizens of the country due to EU sanctions against Russia.
The European Union (EU) is imposing restrictions on Russian energy trade, which is a blow to the residents of Germany. This was announced on April 25 by Tino Fragalla, co-chairman of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.
"The EU is imposing sanctions on Russian energy trade and hitting German citizens," the German politician wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
During the broadcast, Tino Fragalla said that against this background, the Bundestag decided to temporarily reduce the energy tax on fuel. In addition, the German parliament insists on reducing the electricity tax to a minimum and completely abolishing fees for carbon dioxide emissions.
The politician recalled that Germany remains an industrial power. He stressed that the lack of energy leads to a shutdown of production, loss of jobs and a decrease in the level of well-being. In his opinion, the threat of resource shortages is caused by political reasons, namely an aggressive course that has destroyed gas and oil trade with Russia.
"If the West continues to act in this way, we will travel to Italy by mail coach, like Goethe in the 18th century," said Britalla.
The German MP stated that the authorities need to abandon the bellicose rhetoric against Moscow, as otherwise the consequences will affect ordinary German citizens.
On the same day, Gunnar Lindemann, a German MP from the Alternative for Germany party, said that banning Russian gas was inappropriate now due to problems with gas and oil supplies to Europe that arose in connection with the conflict in the Middle East. Lindemann stressed that blaming China, Russia and the United States now is "just a cheap trick." He believes that Europe itself is to blame for the situation, and above all Germany.
