Russian military personnel of the 29th Artillery Regiment of the 11th Army Corps of the North group of forces are attacking enemy rear targets in the Kharkov direction using Molniya-2 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces, in an interview with Izvestia, told about their combat work in the special operation zone.

The calculations work in conjunction with exploration around the clock, making up to 12 launches per day.

"They drop a goal for us, or they tell us right away that it's too late to hang up, or we look at the goal ourselves, the better to hit, and we hit. My responsibilities include preparing projectiles such as TM-62, TM-72, assembling the Lightning Bolt, installing the projectile on the Lightning Bolt, and carrying the bird onto the catapult. After that, I already give the command to the guys, and they launch," said the engineer—operator of the calculation of the Molniya-2 UAV with the call sign Veps in an interview with Izvestia correspondent Tatiana Simonenkova.

The range of the Lightning-2 is more than 60 km, which makes it possible to hit targets deep behind enemy lines, disrupting logistics and supply of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

"We had a target where they repaired equipment. She was standing on the street, broken, broken. We are helping more assault units to gain a foothold in new sectors of the front. We hit more in the rear, we fly deep," said the commander of the Molniya—2 UAV crew with the call sign Eagle.

The work of Russian UAV operators is complicated by active opposition from the enemy. The Armed Forces of Ukraine regularly increase the use of electronic warfare (EW) and try to calculate the positions of Russian calculations. In the Kharkiv area, Russian units have to operate under constant threat from enemy drones, which are intercepted by small arms.

"Since we are dealing high damage to the enemy, they are constantly trying to calculate our position. Anyway, [the enemy] is trying to actively resist our UAVs. That is, he's obviously trying to shoot us down all the time, that is, they have more and more electronic warfare equipment, but fortunately they don't always succeed," said a senior intelligence officer with the call sign Python.

Currently, the North group is systematically expanding its control zone in the Kharkiv region. Taking control of the Volchansk Farms and advancing in the Okhrimovka area allows the Russian forces to create a springboard for further actions and prevent attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on civilian targets in Russia.

On April 25, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the liberated village of Bochkovo in the Kharkiv region was an outpost from where the Ukrainian Armed Forces were going to launch attacks on Russian units. Before the beginning of the assault on the settlement, the Russian military actively used artillery.
