There were seven people in the avalanche zone in Buryatia, four of whom were trapped under the rubble. This was reported on April 24 on the website of the Office of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the republic.

According to the agency's preliminary data, an unregistered group of seven people was climbing to the peak of the Constitution. A snow mass descended on the climbers at the pass of the "26th Party Congress" of the Munku-Sardyk mountain junction.

Three tourists were away from the main attack. They were injured, but they were able to transmit a message about the incident by radio. The other four members of the group presumably remain under the snow.

"The investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Buryatia are conducting a pre—investigation check on this fact," the press service of the department reported.

At the time of the incident, UK investigators were near the pass, who were conducting criminal proceedings on another incident related to the death of tourists. The department clarified that upon confirmation of information about the victims, employees will organize a set of measures on the spot to establish the full picture of what happened.

The fact that four climbers were covered by an avalanche on a mountain in Buryatia on the same day was reported by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the republic. According to preliminary information from eyewitnesses, four people were trapped under the avalanche. Their identities are being established.

In Buryatia, on April 21, three people died while descending from a mountain on a hiking route in the mountains of Eastern Sayan after climbing Munku-Sardyk Peak. The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the region initiated a pre-investigation check. Local media reported that tourists paid 22 thousand rubles for the tour.

According to the investigation, a group of 15 tourists left the camp for the mountains on April 18 and were supposed to return four days later. But on the night of April 21, several people went down to the highway and left a note in a roadside cafe mentioning the deaths of three people during the descent. Among the dead were a man and two women. Later, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that a rockfall could have caused the death of tourists.

On April 22, the SU IC reported that the organizers of the dead tourists' hike had been detained. Three people involved in the case of the death of tourists in the mountains of the Eastern Sayan in Buryatia have been charged. On April 23, the CEO of the organizing travel agency was arrested.
