Russian President Vladimir Putin called the departure of TV presenter Alexei Pimanov a loss for Russian journalism. The corresponding appeal was published on the Kremlin's official website on April 23.

"The death of Alexey Viktorovich Pimanov is a great loss for his family, friends, colleagues, and for the entire national journalism," the statement said.

The Head of State called the TV presenter a decent and caring person who was appreciated for his integrity, honesty and ability to inspire the team. The Russian leader stressed that Pimanov was considered one of the professionals who personify modern television in Russia.

"A special page of his biography is the leadership of the Krasnaya Zvezda creative association, the implementation of popular patriotic and educational projects," Putin added.
