The results of the offensive in two months

Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov said that during March and April, Russian troops liberated 34 settlements. During this period, about 700 square kilometers of territories came under the control of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The inspection of the Southern Group of Forces, which was conducted by the head of the General Staff, confirmed the successful completion of the assigned tasks.

During the report, Gerasimov noted significant enemy losses. According to him, in February and March, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost more than 3,000 people and over 160 pieces of equipment during unsuccessful attacks.

The advance of troops in Donbass

Russian units have fully completed the liberation of the LPR. Gerasimov stressed that the command of the Ukrainian army is trying to hide its failures at the front with the help of information campaigns about the allegedly returned territories, during which it spreads disinformation.

The Chief of the General Staff also announced an active offensive in the direction of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. Russian troops are already located 12 km from the eastern outskirts of Slavyansk and 7 km from Kramatorsk. In addition, more than 75% of Novopavlovka in the Dnipropetrovsk region has been taken under control.

Actions of the Zapad and Dnepr groups

The Zapad group of troops eliminated the AFU units on the eastern bank of the Oskol River south of Kupyansk-Uzlovoye. The Russian Defense Ministry stressed that the offensive is developing on a broad front. In March alone, eight settlements were liberated in this zone.

Currently, fighting is continuing in Borovaya, Svyatogorsk, Studenka and Stary Karavan. The assault groups are advancing west of Gulyai-Pole, taking control of Boikovo and Lugovskoye.

In the southern sector of the front, the Dnepr group is advancing towards Zaporizhia. The Russian military liberated Veselyanka, while street fighting continues in Orekhovo and Zaporozhets. Valery Gerasimov added that, despite all attempts, the Ukrainian side has not achieved its goals.
