A policeman who died during the arrest of a criminal will be buried in Novotroitsk.
The funeral of senior police Lieutenant Nikita Gnusin, who died in the Orenburg region during the arrest of a federally wanted man, will be held on Saturday, April 18, in Novotroitsk. This was announced on April 17 by the press service of the city administration.
On April 16, a shootout took place in the Orenburg region during the arrest of an attacker. As a result of the incident, one police officer died and three other officers were injured.
"The funeral will take place tomorrow at the new cemetery in Novotroitsk," the source told TASS.
On April 16, the press service of the regional Ministry of Health informed that the three surviving victims were in stable serious condition.
A criminal case was opened in connection with the incident, related to an attempt on the life of law enforcement officers. On April 17, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region said that the criminal could be hiding in a mountainous area. To search for the attacker, law enforcement agencies have deployed drones and helicopters that conduct patrols in the region.
