The Russian Ministry of Finance has agreed on the introduction of restrictions for individuals to deposit cash through ATMs, restrictions may come into force in the fall of this year. This was announced on April 16 by Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseev.

"A limit of 1 million rubles is proposed in each bank individually. That is, not all of them together. We couldn't build a system that would monitor all [banks] together," RBC quoted him as saying.

Moiseev added that the rules may come into force in the fall of 2026.
