Navigation of small vessels has officially started in St. Petersburg
The navigation season for small vessels has officially started in St. Petersburg. This year, 21 city berths and more than 140 private berths have been prepared for their parking. This was announced on April 15 by the governor of the Northern Capital, Alexander Beglov.
"The season of water trips and walks along rivers and canals is open," the city administration transmits his words in the Telegram channel.
He noted that the Bolshoy Smolensky Bridge, which is under construction, will be built for the first time to ensure navigation. Beglov also announced the opening of a new pier on the Moika Embankment opposite the Palace Square. According to him, new eco-friendly routes will improve transport logistics and open up opportunities for tourist flights.
"The beginning of navigation is always a joyful event for St. Petersburg, a city in the Neva Delta," the governor emphasized.
Beglov announced on March 31 that the construction of the Bolshoy Smolensky Bridge was ahead of schedule. He assured that the construction of another drawbridge across the Neva River will begin in the summer.
In turn, on the same day, President Vladimir Putin expressed hope for the implementation of the Latitudinal Highway in St. Petersburg on time. The Russian leader recalled that the completion of all sections of the highway is scheduled for 2031.
