This was announced on April 12 by Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

"The price of oil above $ 150 can be reached as early as this week (from April 13 — Ed.)," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

According to Dmitriev, the longer the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, the higher oil and gas prices will be, and the energy crisis in the European Union and the United Kingdom will worsen. The recovery period, in turn, will be prolonged.

In May, the cost of Saudi Aramco's main grade of oil for Asian buyers will be $19.5 per barrel higher than the export prices of Oman and the UAE brands.
