Lukashenko confirms visit to Moscow for Victory Day parade
In a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko confirmed his participation in the upcoming Victory Day parade in Moscow. This was announced on April 12 by the Telegram channel "Pool One".
"Lukashenko has confirmed his participation in the upcoming Victory Day parade in Moscow," the publication says.
In addition, the leaders congratulated each other on Easter and discussed upcoming high-level contacts.
Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on April 5 that the Kremlin was preparing to celebrate Victory Day this year. Thus, he denied information that appeared earlier in the media about the alleged cancellation of the Victory Day Parade in 2026.
Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said on the same day that several foreign statesmen had expressed a desire to come to Moscow for the May 9 celebrations. The names of the guests are still being kept secret, but it is already known for sure that Putin will have more than just celebrations on this day.
