Sergei Sobyanin congratulated Moscow residents on Easter

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on Sunday, April 12, congratulated residents and guests of the capital on Easter, wishing everyone well and good health.

"The great holiday fills our hearts with light and love, strengthens faith and hope, and sets us up for good thoughts and deeds. According to a century—old tradition, Orthodox Moscow celebrates Easter with the ringing of forty forty bells," Sobyanin wrote on his channel in the messenger MAX.

He stressed that the Easter Gift charity festival welcomes guests at city venues and temple territories. In addition, the Moscow Easter Festival opens its 25th season, which includes symphonic and choral performances. The mayor wished everyone a festive mood, good health and all the best.

"May the joyful and sincere atmosphere of the Easter days warm our hearts for as long as possible," Sobyanin concluded.

On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated all Orthodox Christians and citizens of Russia on the feast of Holy Easter. He noted the enormous creative role of the Russian Orthodox Church and other Christian denominations in preserving historical and cultural heritage, as well as in strengthening the institution of the family and educating young people.

Patriarch Kirill, in turn, also congratulated all believers on the great feast of Holy Easter. He noted that the Resurrection of Christ symbolizes victory over death and the opening of the gates of the Kingdom of heaven, and also stressed the importance of referring to the encouraging words of the prophet Isaiah.: "Do not be afraid, for I am with you."
