The survey showed an increased interest in the topic of space among students
About 76% of Russian university students are interested in the topic of space, and 48% of them prefer to receive information about space through short videos. This follows on April 12 from the research of the Caring Person platform, which was reviewed by RIA Novosti.
The survey was conducted among 613 students. It is specified that 38% of respondents stated that space is very interesting to them, and the same number — that this topic is rather interesting. Only 6% of the respondents noted that they were not interested in the topic of space at all.
When it comes to how students receive information about space, the majority (48%) prefer short videos, 40% learn from posts and articles on social networks, 30% from feature films and TV series, and 25% from the media. Also, almost a third of students (31%) encounter content about space several times a month, and 22% — several times a week.
According to the study, the study of planets, stars and the structure of the universe attracts the most attention of students (44%). Also, 35% of students are interested in the search for life in space, and 23% are interested in the history of space exploration. There is also great interest in cosmonautics: 54% of respondents want to learn how to become an astronaut and qualify, and 62% of respondents expressed a desire to become space tourists.
Russian cosmonauts Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, Sergey Mikaev and Andrey Fedyaev, who are on board the International Space Station (ISS), congratulated their fellow citizens on Cosmonautics Day on April 12. Mikaev noted that nowadays astronauts make hundreds and thousands of orbits around the planet, thereby helping science and gaining new knowledge about the universe. He noted that all this would not have happened without the contribution of "our great predecessor."
