The plane with the Holy Fire took off from Tel Aviv to Moscow. Footage from the landing site on April 11 is published by Izvestia.
The lamp with the shrine was carried on board the aircraft by Vladimir Yakunin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the St. Andrew the First-Called Foundation (FAP). He went up the ramp and entered the plane with a lamp.
On the same day, the FAP reported that on Holy Saturday a delegation would deliver the Holy Fire to Russia. The fire will be delivered to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior as part of the patriarchal Easter service.
On April 11, the Holy Fire descended in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. The ceremony took place on Holy Saturday. Before that, prayer processions took place in the temple, and the Kuvuklia, the chapel above the Lord's bed, was searched for fire sources and sealed.
On the same day, the Russian delegation of the St. Andrew the First-Called Foundation (FAP) arrived at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. The delegation is headed by Vladimir Yakunin, Chairman of the FAP Board of Trustees, and Metropolitan Feognost (Guzikov) of Kashira, Vicar of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.
