Rosstandart approves new GOST for water attractions
Rosstandart has adopted a new GOST, which establishes requirements for the safety of water attractions. The document, which was reviewed by RIA Novosti on April 10, will enter into force on July 1 of this year.
"GOST allows specialists working with water attractions to obtain the minimum necessary knowledge about the safety of operation, maintenance and inspection of equipment, taking into account current requirements," the department said.
It clarifies that the standard applies to water slides, wave pools and other attractions used in water parks and outdoor areas. According to the requirements, the attractions must be placed taking into account the safe entry, exit and evacuation of visitors. Children's areas must be isolated from deep-sea objects.
The duties of the staff are also regulated. In particular, the instructor is required to provide assistance to the visitor within 10 seconds after the incident. The control of the water slide should be carried out by two employees — at the start and at the finish. In addition, the standard provides for a daily check of the technical condition of the equipment with mandatory logging of the results, as well as establishes rules for repairs and emergency actions.
On April 9, RIA Novosti reported that Rosstandart had adopted a new GOST that sets requirements for mopeds and motorcycles with electric drive. It was specified that in order to switch the vehicle from the off state to the driving mode, the driver must perform at least two actions. There is also a mandatory indication of the driving mode on the dashboard.
