Israeli strikes on Lebanon violate the ceasefire agreement. This was announced on April 9 by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

"The resumption of the Israeli invasion of Lebanon is a blatant violation of the original ceasefire agreement," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Peseshkian called this a dangerous sign of deception and lack of commitment to potential agreements. He stressed that the continuation of such actions would make negotiations meaningless.

On April 8, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office supported the introduction of a two-week ceasefire with Iran, but clarified that it did not apply to Lebanon. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, hundreds of people were killed and injured after the attack.

Al Mayadeen TV channel provided Izvestia with footage of the aftermath of an Israeli strike on a cafe in the city of Sayd in southern Lebanon.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
