The first President of the Republic of Tyva, Sherig-ool Oorzhak, died at the age of 83.

The first President of the Republic of Tyva, Sherig-ool Oorzhak, died at the age of 84. This was announced on April 8 by the head of the region Vladislav Khovalyg in his Telegram channel.

"Tuva has suffered an irreparable loss today. An outstanding statesman, the first president of the Republic of Sherig, Ool Dizizhikovich Oorzhak, has passed away," the message says.

Khovalyg noted Oorzhak's exceptional energy and dedication. According to him, the life of the first president of Tuva became an example of service to people.

Oorzhak led the region during the crucial period from 1992 to 2002. Khovalyg added that thanks to the will and wisdom of the politician, Tuva managed to maintain stability during the formation of the new Russia.
