In the American city of Westminter, a sculpture of Alexander Ovechkin, captain of the Washington Capitals hockey club, made of marshmallows, was presented at the annual PEEPshow exhibition. This was announced on April 5 by the international blog Russian Machine Never Breaks (RMNB).

The sweet figure called "The Great Pip" was created by artists Charlotte and Stephanie L. They used about 2 thousand marshmallows for their work.

The sculpture depicts a smiling Ovechkin in full hockey gear with a stick in his hands. A manual goal counter is placed next to the figure, which continues to be updated as the Russian striker scores at the end of the season. Currently, zephyr Ovechkin takes 17th place in the voting for the best exhibit of the exhibition.

Ovechkin updated his sniper record on March 26 by scoring the 926th goal of his career in the NHL championships. The 40-year-old Russian scored three goals in a regular season away match against the Utah Mammoth club. The previous league record was held by Canadian Wayne Gretzky, who managed to score 894 goals in 1487 matches.
