The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) has sent National Guard forces to the Kharkiv region to search for deserters. This was reported on April 6 in the Russian law enforcement agencies.

"The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has deployed National Guard combat groups to the Kharkiv region to search for deserters," RIA Novosti quoted the text of the statement.

It is specified that some of the nationalists who arrived will be divided into combat groups, while other units will perform exclusively punitive functions.

The decision was made due to the fact that the Ukrainian law enforcement system is not able to quickly organize a search for fugitive soldiers, the Russian law enforcement agencies added.

On March 28, Russian law enforcement agencies reported on criminal groups of deserters from the Armed Forces of Ukraine operating in the Kharkiv region. It was noted that they not only engage in robbery and murder of civilians, but also sell military ammunition and unmanned aerial vehicles.
