Pensions of non-working elderly citizens in each subject of the Russian Federation (RF) may not be lower than the local subsistence level of a pensioner. This was announced on April 3 by Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.

"There is a general rule for all pensioners across the country: a non—working pensioner cannot have an income per month less than the subsistence minimum set in the relevant region," Nilov stressed in an interview with TASS.
