Roscosmos will present the Amur-LNG rocket demonstrator within two years.

The first demonstrator of the Amur-LNG rocket with a returnable first stage will be presented within the next 1.5-2 years. This was announced on April 1 by Dmitry Bakanov, CEO of the Roscosmos state Corporation.

During his speech at a meeting in the Federation Council, he stressed that the development of a carrier with a returnable stage should be carried out as a matter of urgency. According to Bakanov, the terms of reference for this project were signed in June 2025.

"We will try to show the first demonstrator to the public within 1.5–2 years. This concerns the return stage," Bakanov said.

On the same day, Bakanov announced that the first launch of the newest Soyuz-5 launch vehicle, which was created during close cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan, is scheduled for the coming days. According to the head of the state corporation, in parallel with the preparation, the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) approved the concept of creating the Russian segment of the International Scientific Lunar Station, which is being built as part of a joint project with China.
