Khrunichev Missile Center facilities to be transferred from Moscow to Omsk
The production facilities of the Khrunichev Rocket Center will be transferred from Moscow to Omsk. This was announced on April 1 by Dmitry Bakanov, CEO of the Roscosmos state Corporation.
"As for the Omsk site. Indeed, we are transporting all the production facilities of the Khrunichev Center to Omsk from the [Moscow region] Fili," Bakanov said.
According to him, this decision was made due to the high overhead costs of maintaining production facilities in Khimki. At the same time, he noted the importance of maintaining the design bureau in the capital with all its competencies and specialists.
On the same day, Bakanov said that manned launches would sooner or later move to the Vostochny cosmodrome, which would give an additional impetus to development, including personnel. He added that the contractor was delaying the construction of the complex. According to the head of Roscosmos, the state corporation hopes to complete the construction by the end of 2026.
