- The Ministry of Emergency Situations warned Muscovites about the abnormal heat until April 5.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has announced an emergency warning about adverse meteorological events in Moscow: abnormally hot weather is expected in the capital from April 1 to April 5. This was reported on March 31 on the website of the main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the capital.
"According to forecasts by weather forecasters of the Russian Hydrometeorological Service, abnormally hot weather is expected in Moscow from April 1 to 5, with an average daily air temperature of seven degrees or more above the climatic norm," the agency said in a statement.
Due to the hot weather, rescuers recommend avoiding overheating in the sun, using light-colored clothing and a hat, and drinking more water. It is also necessary to comply with fire safety requirements and avoid handling an open fire.
On the same day, a new temperature record was set in Moscow. Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, said that by 15:00 at the VDNKh reference weather station, the thermometer showed +17.5 degrees, which exceeded the previous record of 2007 (+17.2 degrees).
