Two container ships of the Chinese company COSCO decided not to cross the Strait of Hormuz and returned back to the Persian Gulf. It follows from the data of the MarineTraffic ship tracking service on March 27.

According to the website, the container ships CSCL Indian Ocean and CSCL Arctic Ocean tried to pass through the strait, but turned around at about 03:20 and 03:50 UTC (05:20 GMT and 05:50 GMT) accordingly.

It is specified that this attempt was the first since the beginning of the conflict for large container ships.

Ali Reza Tangsiri, commander of the Naval Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said on March 24 that the IRGC forces deployed a container ship due to non-compliance with protocols and lack of permission for passage. He recalled that the passage of a frontal vessel through this waterway requires full coordination with Iran to respect the country's maritime sovereignty.
