The attack of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on the Turkish tanker ALTURA in the Black Sea violates international law. This was announced on March 26 by the official representative of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Onju Kecheli.

"These and similar attacks taking place within our exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea and contrary to international law pose serious risks to life, property, navigation and environmental safety," Kecheli is quoted as saying on the website of the country's Foreign Ministry.

According to him, Turkish specialists have started conducting inspections and technical measures. The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that all the crew members are feeling well.

In addition, Kecheli clarified that the Turkish side reserves the right to take the necessary measures within the framework of existing legal norms to protect the country's economic interests in the region.

On the same day, NTV reported that the Turkish tanker ALTURA was attacked by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the Black Sea. According to the TV channel, there were 140 thousand tons of oil on board the vessel. As a result of the impact, a powerful explosion occurred, and the bridge and engine room were damaged.
