The staff of the Moscow museums told about the specifics of their work

On Cultural Worker's Day, employees of Moscow museums shared their stories about how they chose their profession and what is important to them in their work. This was reported on the portal on March 25. mos.ru .

Oleg Krzhizhanovsky, Head of the Exposition and Exhibition Department at the Moscow State Defense Museum, emphasized the importance of education through the museum. He noted that museums need to arrange exhibitions in such a way that they not only acquaint with history, but also convey the right meanings, especially to young people. In his opinion, if a museum worker can provide the necessary information, it means that his work is beneficial.

"I am firmly convinced that the museum should educate. And this should be done skillfully, excluding moralizing and an edifying tone. The museum has a lot of tools, and we try to arrange the exposition so that it contains the necessary narratives," he stressed.

Sofia Lapidus, administrator of the Moscow Yesenin Museum, told how working at the museum allowed her not only to share knowledge about poetry, but also to be a link between the poet and visitors. Lapidus admitted that reading Yesenin's poetry and discussing his life with visitors is not just a job, but a great responsibility and happiness.

Ivan Nazarov, Deputy Director of the Mikhail Bulgakov Museum, noted that over the years he had learned how to conduct a dialogue with different audiences, from scientists to schoolchildren. The museum is becoming a place where everyone can find something for themselves, and this inspires them to new projects.

"We are having a conversation with an audience of millions, and we must always be prepared for the most diverse turns of this conversation. We may find ourselves facing a venerable Bulgakov scholar or a schoolboy who has just discovered the name of the author of The Master and Margarita for the first time on an excursion," he noted.

Curator and Head of the Russian Art Sector at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA) Vladimir Prokhorov spoke about his long and interesting career. He stressed that in recent years the museum has been actively working with regional projects, which provides new opportunities for creativity and professional growth.

Elena Golovina, a researcher at the MMOMA Art Promotion Department, also shared her experience. First working as a guide, and now developing programs for children and adults, she tries to make art accessible to different age groups by creating interesting and informative excursions and lectures.
