Santiago Castrillon, a football player in the youth team of the Colombian club Millonarios, died at the age of 18. This was announced on the club's website on March 22.
"We express our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones," the club said in a statement.
During the Colombian Youth Championship match on March 21, a player lost consciousness on the field. He was taken to a medical facility, where he was placed in the intensive care unit.
Despite the efforts of doctors, Castrillon died on March 22.
